On February 18th, we embarked on our parliamentary convoy from Dover, accompanied by Alex Sobel (MP for Leeds) and Cameron Thomas (MP for Tewkesbury). We convened at the Hamlet Hotel in Maidstone to discuss the upcoming journey.
After crossing the English Channel, we drove for three days until reaching the Polish/Ukrainian border. Following a brief delay, we successfully crossed and joined other MPs at a secret location. Subsequently, we dispersed to various destinations, including Kyiv, where we delivered medical aid. We spent the night in Kyiv and the following morning in Kharkiv, the twin city of Leeds. This connection is one of the reasons for our delivery to the second-largest city in Ukraine.
After completing our aid distribution, we returned to our hotel, where an unexpected incident occurred. At approximately 12:34 AM, an explosion rocked the building, causing significant damage. Fortunately, no MPs were present in our hotel or the adjacent one that was struck.
